‘I am Evert, a lawyer with De Gier Stam.’ ‘I am Elian.’ This was how we first met each other at an evening function organised by Utrecht BC. It seemed like just another meeting but this one was different, because Evert was there. I don’t trust lawyers but Evert is different. Sure, he is a lawyer but then he is not what a lawyer is ‘supposed’ to be. This is why he can only be found at De Gier Stam: the ultimate intellectual property lawyer in the ultimate law firm.

Still, it could be worse (for the adversary). He drives every lawyer in other law firms to utter despair. Sophisticated and tending towards the ingenious use of language, their adversaries will find themselves burning the midnight oil trying to decipher what the duo have written, only to discover helplessly in bed afterwards that their argument is watertight.

They raise the bar high at DGS but Evert easily leaps over it. Do you have anything that smacks of intellectual counterfeiting? Go to Evert. It will turn out well. Before you know it, like me, you will find yourself in the clutches of the A.P.D.C.S.P.D.R.I.W.A.S.E.S.N. What is this? I cannot and may not explain this to you on behalf of Evert’s association (the first letter of it). Still, with Evert there is a good chance that you will find yourself entangled in it.

For the rest, he is the most passionate professional on this side of Mount Everest and its far-flung surroundings that I will encounter during my lifetime. Against you, he is like a pitbull at the jugular. With you, he is as amiable as a lamb. I have the pleasure and honour to act as his ambassador and will do so fervently.
