Nederlandse Vereniging voor Veiligheidskunde (NVVK) [Dutch Association of Safety Expertise] was founded in 1947 and is home to a varied group of professionals. Safety experts work in all sectors of industry varying from health care to the chemical industry and the services sector. They operate at the intermediate and upper levels and are involved in both workplace and corporate safety, some specialising in, for example, workplace hygiene, ergonomics, radiation or fire safety. All of these different types of safety experts can become members of the NVVK.

Network

In the first place the NVVK provides a network which safety experts can use to answer practical questions. Both at a national and regional level meetings are regularly organised, which present an opportunity to establish contacts and to exchange information peculiar to the discipline. In addition, information about the industry can be found in NVVK-info, the association’s journal which is exclusively intended for NVVK members.

Promotion of interests

In addition to providing a network and information, the NVVK is actively involved in the amendment of legislation and regulations. The NVVK’s contribution is not confined to specialist input but also involves promoting the interests of safety experts.
