“No panic!”

This adage I have used quite frequently in the recent and extremely turbulent period that is now behind us. And with “us” I mean BONFIX B.V., the company of which I am the general manager.

A newly introduced product line, a stormy sales development and a big bad competitor, were the main ingredients of the past year. An almost insanely successful year for a company that – swimming against the tide – is flourishing. This also leads to growing pains… At the supplier, in personal relationships, logistically, as far as the housing is concerned, with regard to marketing, and so on.

But “No panic!” because for every problem I can make an appeal to very skilled and adequately operating partners, inside as well as outside the company.

“No panic!” I yelled confidently when BONFIX – because of the introduction of its new product line – was being accused of “slavish imitation”. A yell that afterwards frequently came to my mind. Under the motto “you need to fight fire with fire” I contacted Evert van Gelderen partner at De Gier | Stam & Attorneys and specialized in intellectual property rights. A perfect choice, I can confirm now. Armed with all the right arguments, we engaged the enemy in battle and – to cut a very long story short – won on every aspect.

And so with every new problem, one can hear me say from the bottom of my heart: “No panic!”
