Jean Klare is an independent graphic designer and the owner of the Deventer firm, Hellend Vlak : : Concepten, which offers graphic design and pre-press services (link: www.hellendvlak.nl). He specialises in presenting information in a clear, accessible, attractive and friendly manner in the form of an eminently functional integration of text and image coupled with the shrewd utilisation of production features: practical, tailored solutions which are distinctive from the norm.

In addition, he is a writer and develops his own independent graphic projects, amongst other things in the field of imaginary cartography, although it is not confined to this. He is fascinated with order, chaos, self-structuring systems, constellations and configurations. Together with Louise van Swaaij, he is known as the inventor of the Belevingswereld [Experiential World]. The Belevingswereld is a cartography of ideas, a graphical depiction of the landscape of human experience. More than 400,000 copies of this book have been sold throughout the world and it has been translated into 16 languages.

Recently the publishing firm, NBG, published his creation Atlas van het Bijbelse Continent [An Atlas of the Biblical Continent] (link: www.hetbijbelsecontinent.nl), an imaginary cartography of the Bible.

Evert van Gelderen assists him when there is a need to tackle infringement of copyright, to draw up contracts, or to deal with other issues concerning intellectual property.
