The Vereniging voor Auteursrecht [Dutch Copyright Association] (VvA) is involved in the study of copyright and related matters. In an international context it constitutes the Dutch branch of the Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI).

At present the VvA has around 500 members and, as such, is the largest association within the ALAI. There are no formal requirements for membership. Not only lawyers can become members, so too can writers, architects, members of the performing arts and, more generally speaking, anyone who has an interest in the protection of works of literature, science or art. The members meet three times a year. Usually, a specific theme is highlighted and is introduced by speakers from different backgrounds, following which plenary discussion ensues, sometimes with a panel.
